If you've been to the GIBF before, you know how fast the pizza moves. If not - well, you'll get to see the slice speed in action this year, as Pizza Pie-er will be back, with delicious, beer-absorbing 'za.

Hope & Main Will Have Gnashables on Hand

Have you heard of Hope & Main? It’s where new small food businesses are brewed, and they’ll have a double tiered sampling station at this year’s GIBF. They’re basically culinary microbrewers – find out what they think pairs well with that marzden, stout or IPA – it’s the perfect way to keep your food-beer balance from going rouge during the 4 hour event.

Tell us what sort of food you’d like to see at the beer fest – we’ll see if these taste engineers can work with your suggestions.

Steve Smith & The Nakeds at the 2016 GIBF

Steve Smith & The Nakeds will be performing throughout both the afternoon and evening shows. They'll have to take a break when the winners of the brewing competition are announced  - and getting these high-energy performers to take a break is no easy task - but you can expect their RI-brewed rock & roll to keep you pumped throughout the show.

If you're not familiar with these RI rock legends, we'll put some samples on here over the next week. They're recent inductees in the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, They had their own clip on "The Family Guy," they're the official band of Narragansett Beer, and there probably is no local show, outlet or venue they haven't performed on in the last 40+ years!

Steve Smith & The Nakeds rock The Family Guy:

(the song title was actually inspired by a boat named "The Huge," but feel free to add your own interpretation)

If you've never been to a Great International Beer Fest, this will help you get a feel for the event. There is, of course, a big difference between a spring event on a golf course, and this November's big Fall Fest in the heart of Providence.
